I could be wrong but neither did Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan and Bush Sr when they were the POTUS.
Things changed after the Fall of the Soviet Union and Israeli hold on America is increasing rapidly with each new Presidency. What we see is the the Worst--even worse than Biden.
But I don't think if Trump is removed from power then J. D. Vance would be this bad. People like Biden and Trump are cold war mentality old fogies Zionists.

The world is lawless and isn't just black and white. No need to be idealistic about it.

China-US relationship has always been contentious. For one, China doesn't want to sour the relationship too much that its economy is hurt. For two, US always thinks China is its potential challenger and always tries to weaken its government. So, China is cultivating two tracks. One is to maintain good economic relationship with US and the other is to counter US influence elsewhere. That is why China didn't veto for Iran but also worked with Iran behind US back.

Maybe Iran is just too naive to understand the reality of international relationship. That naivety will get Iran into somewhere between a rock and a hard place.

You may want to give a breakdown of the terms you use for the different institutions and organisations one day? I am not sure what Artesh means? Is that regular forces and not IRGC?

Iran is not some banana republic that you can play as a card whenever you wish. But I don't disagree with your comment. In fact, it confirms that it wasn't Iran that threw China under the bus, but it was the other way around.

Well if it took him 20 years to realise that, then it was worth it.

Also we don't really know if their is true intention in Iran to get it or not. But what we do know is that the dramatic increase in enrichment in Iran in the past few years has increased Irans latent nuclear power.

yes Artesh is regular army and IRGC is separate army designed to protect the Revolution and which has been favoured over the Artesh and is now stronger than Artesh

Artesh = Army
Sepah = IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps)
