Trumpy was unhinged on Obama st the time and as usual didn't use his brain much. They probably also thought sanctions pressure would be Iran to the table, it failed Iran infact is on the precipe to become a breakout nuclear state if it wishes. So all of a sudden that deal with 3.5% enrichment or whatever it was is looking great.

Iran really needs sanctions dropped and access to advance tech to improve its military. If you give up nukes, you need some guarantee the unreliable west wont come after you later. Advance weapons will help to reduce that possibility.

It's hard to know what they wanted to achieve by firing all those missiles at Israel. I agree with some members here that 180 ballistic missiles is probably a false number, and larger than the actual number.
They missed some obvious targets in Nevatim.
For example, satellite imagery "suggests" that they wanted to target F-35 shelters. But there aren't enough hits in that region to reach a decisive conclusion. Also, those hangars are reinforced concrete. So, what did they intend to achieve by that when they knew those fighters won't be there and the damage would appear to be minimal in satellite imagery?

Yet, they missed a very obvious and vulnerable target like the Control Tower which could've been a sensible choice, and a pretty nice target for propaganda in satellite imagery. Probably because the Control Tower was close to the shelter hosting the Wing of Zion, they considered that escalatory and decided not to target that proximity.

The problem with Iran's attacks is that when it's over, nothing makes sense. Look at the Israeli attack on Iran. Their choice of targets makes sense. But you can't claim the same thing about our military responses.

Unless there is a spotter on the ground , or using drones or satellites to target, it is extremely difficult to hit a control tower from that distance.

If they had attempted to do that, there would've been at least a few missed shots there, but there isn't any.

This, again, proves why you cannot completely rely on ballistic missiles for deterrence.

Only good for shot gunning and spreading fear unless you have hi-tech guidance and targeting. For one the poorest nations to achieve a hit on Tel-Aviv is an incredible feat.

I don't consider Iran as an energy super power to be one of the poorest nations.
What you are describing is terrorism. Terrorism does not constitute a strategy in military affairs. Maybe a short term tactic, but not a strategy.

We all recall seeing secondary explosions, implying they hit key targets.

I have reiterated several times, people are underestimating the effects of shock wave damage on both personnel and sensitive equipment. NOWHERE on that base would have been safe especially if they decided to upscale the attack...any baby killers still alive following that would spend the rest of their days in diapers requiring tube feeding .

Despite this we will have the usual clowns insist:
