Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Democracy isn't all that great

People are idiots.
Many don't understand national interests or complicated issues

Worst still they are easily manipulated to vote for issues that are unimportant or for individuals who are sold out

Even in the west democracy is becoming chaotic, see MAGA, Brexit, and the plethora of right wing populist parties in Europe
Democracy is actually an absurdly stupid idea.

"Informed"?! :D

Well, that is an understatement. Just look at the vilification of anything and everything about Israel and by extension USA just about everywhere on PDF as an example. and consider that most of us are very well informed already.
Israel and America can be exposed for the evil acts they engage him. For America its the foreign policy, for Israel its how the country was formed and operates. If that means "vilification", so be it.

LOL. Exposure is good. Please do carry on.

The real question here is what comes after all this exposure. More of the same? How can it be used to change things for the better?

Well, there seems to be no conflict going on at the moment, with the immediate crisis past. Everyone seems to be biding their time for developments, hence my comments above.

Well America is under a tyrannical ruler these days he’s definitely playing the villain part talks openly about stealing resources and lands of other people

One year gone, three more to go.

Iran is heading for a Secular Military Dictatorship+Technocracy run on massive petro revenues, kinda similar to current Russia. Removal of old generals, and marvelous but ideological Soleimani helped pave the way. Khamenei's departure from power will be the final nail in the coffin of Islamic Iran.
Iranian military personnel are Muslims; Soleimani and all of them were believing soldiers, just like in the early days of Islam "mujjahideen".

Breaking News Report: Senior Iranian diplomat at U.N. European Headquarters has defected and requested asylum in Switzerland, reports Iran International. Alireza Jeyrani Hokmabad has the rank of Minister at the Iranian UN Mission in Geneva.
Not shared or seen widely, so take at as unconfirmed.
it's not new, this happens every so often

he's not that high ranking

So, the leadership knows what's coming. Strictly from Iran's POV: Why not fire the first bullet in that case?

I just don't understand this restraint.

Wouldn't you take action first if someone armed with a gun is charging at you, fully aware that they intend to kill you?

IRI is either ready to 'absorb' the attack and move on or they are genuinely scared of the US.

Either way, doing nothing and waiting for the missiles to hit them can't be the answer. Deterrence must be re-established.

France and the UK are scared of the US, of course Iran is scared, it's a rational fear

Everyone respects Yemen for its aggressive preemptive strikes, fearlessly firing missiles at U.S. aircraft carriers, and agrees to ceasefire.
Meanwhile, missiles rain down relentlessly on Iran, which remains perpetually passive.
Sadly, the mullahs lack the wisdom to learn from this.
everyone respects Yemen and no Iranian wants to live like Yemenis
