AC have refuel planes too you know. Also the aircraft fire standoff missiles from a great distance :And that's what you ideally want.
Keeping the AC at bay is better than letting it come in close for an attempted kill and things spiral out of control. Considering the level of military build up. Keeping U.S navy at bay and denying combined arms is definitely a feat in itself.
The F-35 can carry several long-range standoff missiles, each with distinct ranges depending on the specific weapon:
- AGM-158 JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile): Has a range of 230 miles (370 km).
- AGM-158 JASSM-ER (Extended Range): Offers a significantly longer range of 620 miles (1,000 km).
- AGM-158C LRASM (Long Range Anti-Ship Missile): Has a range of approximately 200 nautical miles (370 km), with some variants (like the AGM-158C-3) potentially reaching up to 600 miles (965 km) based on public estimates.
- AGM-158 XR (eXtreme Range): An upcoming, longer-range variant currently in development, expected to have a range of around 1,000 miles (1,600 km).
