Short term, the toppling of Assad did a grave harm to the Israel-Gaza conflict. Long term... who knows for sure but I am not ruling out Syria/Turkey will be hostile to Israel. We saw a video of the ex Israeli PM Naftali, who is likely to replace Netanyahu as the next PM, and who is concerned about the Turkish presence closer to Israel by the Sharrah takover.

It’s clear They want Rouhani. They have worked with Rouhani in 2003 over nuclear negotiations. They worked with Rouhani under Reagan multiple times. And there are alleges that Rouhani even spoken to Israeli officials back during Iran-Iraq war.

Rouhani or Hassan Khomeini are the only two people that the U.S. will likely want to deal with.

Meengla has been very vocal against the toppling of Assad.

I dislike Assad but I was in the camp of avoiding the destruction of Syria in a civil war. The thing is most Syrians did not like the Assads because they were ruthless dictators. It’s up to the Syrian people to decide not me or you.

Do I wish Syria is not in ruins ? Yes

I also wish maybe Assad could have compromised and led a transitional government instead of sticking to his guns and letting the civil war destroy his country.

Agree, these Israelis/Jews are indeed the best long term planners ever. I have found then fairly predictable though and they also have another attribute similar to right wingers, they cannot help but tell you exactly what they plan to do. You can find Israelis or Jews speaking decades, sometimes a century in advance of a topic like what they will do to the Palestinians, the wider Mideast or why they want to attack Iran.
