Iranians do not know what do they want out of this either ? continue fight to what purpose, IRGC wont get deterred and keep firing but civilian infrastructure and casualties will accumulate at USAF hands ? THAADs, bases, radarsm other assets in region no longer exist (for now), They have landed every type of missile in Israel from IRBMs, cluster warheads, hypersonic and what not. Israeli ABM/AD shield is gone but now what ?

IMO everyone wants to escape from this war now but they are waiting for one side to make the first move.

I doubt it, Iran is launching at best 15-20 missiles a day usually in 1-2 salvos at a time. It's relatively easy to intercept. People forget that during the June War the Salvos were often 20-30 missiles at a time. It's the reason why the casualties were higher. Up until now, their has been only one mass casualty event when a bunker was struck killing 9 people. Meanwhile Israel is hitting hundreds of targets per day. You can't hide deaths and funerals. Iran's ability to hit Israel was greatly reduced in a space of 24-48 hours which is why they are going after the GCC more since its easier. The question is whether full deterrence will be established or not, their was massive declines in missile launches to Israel by day 4, but it seems the rate of decline has slowed or stopped. Best case scenario they can keep up 15-20 missile launches per day with numerous 1-2 missile salvos, will prevent Israel from opening up its airport and general economy but won't cause mass destruction and casualties. We need to be realistic at this point.

Iran's missile firings are showing similar pattern to what happened during 12 day war in June 2025.

15-20 missiles probably needs 30-40 interceptots like SM-3/THAAD/ARROW 2/3 to intercept reliably, and they can only last another 5-7 days before significant depletion kicks in.

Remember now heavier missiles like Khorramshahr are being used, and not only do they have larger warheads but higher penetration capability than earlier waves of missiles.

Iran just needs to keep going and once the ABM shield and drones are degraded sufficiently, then it will be able to cause significant damage to Zionist entity.

On BBC Newsnight yesterday, the Cypriot MPs were questioning how the UK having those bases are in their interests or not, with the undertone that they may/will ask the UK to close them down once this current conflict is all over.

IMO everyone wants to escape from this war now but they are waiting for one side to make the first move.

Iran won’t surrender before the 40 day Anniversary of Khamenai. It’s bad optics.

The problem with killing Khamenai is it puts Iran in an awkward position if it negotiates. It can actually destabilize the republic more than the war itself if it negotiates too soon as it appears the system is too weak and with no honor to fight for their spiritual, political, religious leader of the revolution.

Thus the war will simply go on. Israel and U.S. sortie rates will begin to drop. More and more F-22’s and F-35s will enter maintenance protocol and won’t be flight ready which means more and more reliance on F-15’s and older aircraft. People forget how many hours of maintenance and F-22 needs for every flight hour. And right now the military is stressing these 5th gen fighters on 24/7 duty.

So there is a point within the coming days that Iran should theoretically if it still has a decent drone and missile stockpile, be able to create more and more damage on PGCC and Israeli assets.

The first week or two always goes to the attacking power. If the defender can survive and reorganize then the real war begins. (See Ukraine-Russia)
