Trump himself said he doesn't care about his 'popularity' and looking at the way the Republican Congressmen have been voting since this war started, they dare not challenge Trump over anything, not even over the fear of losing the Midterms.
A faint hope for peace would be the Democrats win by considerable number and Impeach Trump, and that's Trump's major fear but then who knows what the world may even look like once the Midterms happen and the new Congress takes oath--almost a year more to go.

They would have to get close to super majority or big enough of majority where they can get enough sane republicans to join

I think he understand that no matter what he do, there will be Americans who will hate him regardless, and it may be true that Israeli lobby have promised him a good Cases-free retirement life once he is out of the office. Lets not forget that he was impeached, arrested, and a convicted Felon and yet he won. As for Democrats they are still not coming to the senses that their base is now very Anti-Israel and they want the war and Genocide to be over, and American govt to use their leverage over Israel to put a leash on them, there is no Democratic leader that will stand-up and tell Israel/Bibi no. Trump is looking after his own self-interest, he doesn't care what America/Americans think about him, for him the world can burn for as long as he get the real estate contracts in its reconstruction.
 
So it’s been a couple of hours for Israel I think another wave is coming I’m hoping Hezbollah starts it up hard again
