Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Except that there were no US troops or allied forces fighting on the ground that needed close air support. And while the F-35 can provide CAS, that job is usually left to A-10 Thunderbolt II.
The A-10 will eventually go away. The Air Force hasn't given up on that.

As Marine F/A-18s are replaced by the F-35, CAS for the BLTs and other ground units will come eventually from the F-35.

In the meantime, the A-10 is simply awesome when you need something to look like Swiss Cheese.

I think they got careless; we saw videos earlier of f-18s flying in low altitude because they thought irans air defence was depleted
Which means something like "Flight of the Intruder"; some farmer with an SKS got a lucky hit.

It is interesting how the USAF keeps trying to retire the A-10, but it always seems to find useful roles like anti-drones and naval(anti-speedboats) as of now ... the old Hog just won't go down without a fight.

This changes everything.
If just one of those are shoot down all the war is over. That would mean Irán can track and shoot down 5 gen aircraft and therefore russians and Chinese also.

True imagine Iran parades the downed pilot on national TV

Even better if it’s Israeli
