While I agree the Iranian decision makers have shown plenty of incompetence and costly mistakes - some which don't even make sense, like firing missiles at Pakistan - together with their tall claims, you also need to keep in mind what they are up against.

I disagree. China and Arabs are nowhere in the same position. China is biding time and building up all of its comprehensive power to surpass the West, which is the hardest feat in the world. They are not attacking Taiwan because they want to eventually take over Taiwan peacefully when it is clear they are invincible. Taiwanese are considered Chinese, so why do they want to kill fellow Chinese?

Iran cannot waste all of their arsenal on Israel and then sit back and get decimated by the US, Arabs, Israelis and the EU. They have to work strategically and carefully and in a very contained manner.

this is a nation under 40 years of sanctions to the teeth, fighting the whole region all alone, they have to pass through a dozen countries shielding Israel, directly or indirectly, to even reach Israel . Sure they should fight but there is no need for them to be suicidal either, just to give us some good feel-happy videos.
