Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

My main concern is losing our islands in the Persian Gulf, and never taking them back.
I dont think those islands are defendable without high losses, constant supply and protection. They turn into a liability eventually.

Because precision stand off munitions didn’t exist in 1991…..
it did, guided munitions were responsible for the destruction of 75% of strategic targets in Iraq. Although it represented only 10% of the overall spread in tonnage.

13 aircraft were shot down over Iraq, AAA 7 with SAM 7 with quick reaction IR missiles 7 and 1 was shot down by a Mig-25.
Saddam had a fully functional integrated layered air defense system a mix of Russian, French and European origin.

What makes you think any islands lost won't be taken back at the peace table? Iran can strike any force on those islands at will. It is a waste of lives to even try to defend them under current circumstances.

I see people have started dooming again because Iran didn't send 1 million soldiers into the desert without any air cover to find 1 guy. For some reason they think Trump wasn't going to invade if they couldn't find this one pilot?
The U.S can't "Invade" Iran even if Trump were to give the order. People here who should know better are in Panic mode.

Other than the Strait of Hormuz, what cards do we have to put on the negotiation table?

We have been striking the US forces in neighboring countries for 36 days already. How many have we killed so far?

what exactly do you call Tomahawk?

Not sure if you’re serious. But a tomahawk is LAND/SEA launched weapon. Not a stand off precision air launched weapon from a fighter jet. And they were more inaccurate back then and failed around 30%+.

It is well known in 1991 pilots had to get a lot closer to their target and thus pilots were much more at risk.

Alot of technologies today, HARM, space based ISR, SIGINT and EW planes, Jamming pods, long range targeting pods, air launched BMs, 1000KM stealth cruise missiles, long range drones, etc. didn’t exist or was in its infancy. Iraq in 1991 still had a formidable force of Soviet era air defense and it was going up against 4th gen aircraft that were much more detectable from an RCS standpoint . Not F-35 or F-22 or B-2 or stealth flying wing drones like RQ-180 and the Israeli one.

No excuses, Iran’s air defense teams did awful. Not disputing that. But I figured they would do awful again since they performed so poorly in 12 day war. I reiterated the small S-300 was not enough for the size of Iran. A country the size of Europe was defending itself with such a small amount of systems. No S-400 or S-500. No HQ-9. No proof that Bavar was mass produced.
