Iran is not benefiting from it anymore. Iran had a brief golden time during the war when it was exporting its oil while stopping or tolling others.
With that leverage, Iran was hoping to extract a lot in negotiations. But US has practically negated this leverage by placing a blockade over Iran itself. Now US says this blockade will only lift when Iran agrees to all of its terms including free passage of strait.
Iran cannot do any exports at all with its control over strait while US is doing business as usual and exporting record amount of oil.
US can escalate it exponentially if Iran do not submit. They can start by creating No fly zone over Iran. So zero sea and air trade. Then if war breaks out, they can just turn Tehran into rubble. Iran cannot hit back at US, it can just hit at GCC to put pressure. This is not equivalent to hitting US. No US citizens are at risk.
I think Iran would have been in a lot more powerful position, if it had capability to hit and sink US warships at long distance (1000 km). Then blockade could have been challenged and also US would not easily give civilization end threats etc. Right now, Iran just cannot retaliate. It already did what it could do by hitting US bases in the region. I don't think those bases has anything left to hit anymore. Whether it was destroyed or moved away to safety. Iran needs peace time, so it can build its long range anti-ship capability and air defense. Along with more modern / faster BMs.

The war itself is a mess and a war for Israel and maybe even for Netanyahu himself. I see no 'victory' for America unless they decide on carpet bombing and/or nuking Iran in multiple places.
While the war hawks in America like John Bolton think the American Blockade was needed, even India's General Bakshi is spot on: Trump destroyed his own off ramp by doing the Blockade.

Iran has the time but the world economy as well as the US navy resources enforcing the Blockade are more pressed for the time. And time matters a great deal here. Essentially, Iran, as a state, is moving to a guerilla war mode due to its lack of options, of which the inability to do major damage to Israel, at least so far demonstrated.

Iran does have that capability, at least in the 1,000 km range, but Iran is afraid of using it. The USN had to move out of our firing range during the war.

Yar this Bakshi should be avoided. Says a lot of crap against us. I was watching one of his video on this topic many days ago during the war, where he says... russia has sent S400 to Iran. Trump is trembling. Same S400 which beaten the hell out of Pakistan LMAO!. How these people lie so much, when everyone knows it was opposite. We took out one of S400 battery and PAF has world acknowledged & established score of 7-0. Another lie and stupid analysis is that how come Russia provided S400 in middle of war and no one noticed but Gen Bakhsi?

Iranian we're claiming they will sink Usa aircraft carriers but now are unable or unwilling to destroy Usa ships who are responsible for the blockade. This is an act of war by the Usa. Usa can easily destroy Iranian ports but are not doing it, they are most likely making threats behind the scenes. Trump is using Venezuela tactics, he wants Iranian government/military to surrender and cooperate, in Venezuela he kidnapped the leader and in Iran assassinated all leadership.

I try not to shoot down a messenger too often; the message itself, especially from diverse sources, is more important. My point was that even an Israel loving, Pakistan-hating Indian like General Bakshi is saying that Trump made the blunder of introducing the Blockade. And what Bakshi says is being said by many analysts.
Trump simply Effed Up by introducing the Blockade and no surprise. What a dangerous and sad situation for this world where the mightiest power's leader is acting like a four year old!
Starting to watch this--and they are certainly not General Bakshi.
