He was a monarch for sure. However, the Ayatollah also build their support in Iraq and France to overthrow him. Google is your friend. Perhaps people do not find anybody satisfactory until they experiment and learn from experience.

From Iran's perspective, Syria is gone, Iraq is gone, Jordan is helping IAF, so there is an uninterrupted land corridor. Just hope that Baluch doesnt flare up as it has implications for both Pak and Iran

Proxies are used by everyone, Iran overused them. Iran also treated its neigbours like inferior subjects of some persian empire, instead of respecting them as equals.

Brother I wouldn’t say haram for them but they used them to fight against anti Asad regime freedom fighters in Syria.
