Agreed, there policy kept on failing in energy rich Middle East due to Israeli aggression. Sooner or later that region will see popular govts and will be another headache, on top world wide economic meldown is bad news for many countries.

I doubt the monarchies will popular governments but will have to concede things to the public to maintain their support/participation in building up industries to give the monarchies a strong diversified economy, which would be a foundation in the world that is being shaped.

I don't think that was the intention of Israel to distract US from focusing on China and the Asia-Pacific if that ever happened. Israel had its own agenda in the Mideast esp with Iran as Netanyahu spoke publicly.

I’m describing what Israel is doing is effectively a distraction for the US from its long term intetests. For Israel it is tying down a major power to the region for Israeli interests.

We need to not fall into the Western inspired ideals of governance. The Arab 'monarchies' which everyone hates became part of the pax Americana and lifted tens of millions of their own people up in relatively peace and indirectly lifted hundreds of millions in other countries by importing labor. And a 'totalitarian' China is a Superpower. And the 'democratic' India under Modi has engineered the worst foreign policy of India. And the 'democratic' Sri Lanka went bankrupt just a few years ago...
What's that saying from Mao about cat catching the mouse... First and foremost nations should have peace and stability. Which creates environment for education and development and with that comes awareness.

As far as we (and the wider world) see it, this is JCPOA being agreed again but making sure Iran is first pummeled enough that it doesn't benefit from the JCPOA in the short to mid-term like it nearly did in 2015.

And you were totally immune from gas prices at the pump... that's one way of looking at it... the inflation has yet to be priced in...
The bonds are on upward trajectory when the debt is peaking and an IPO just ransacked people's retirement portfolios for a company that doesn't make money.

Strait to reopen​

Trump said the Strait of Hormuz, a major shipping route for global oil and gas supplies that Iran has effectively shut down for months, would open on Friday, and that he had ordered the end of the US blockade of Iranian ports.

Oil prices fell on the news. Brent crude futures fell four per cent in early trading on Monday, while US West Texas Intermediate slid more than 4.6pc. Stock markets in Asia jumped.

Many in Iran want the war to continue, but the decision was made to make peace.

I feel like the third round of war will begin in near future. I hope the Arabs don't act foolishly like before and don't side with Israel and America, otherwise they will be easily destroyed.

It is okay. Many nations define peace as the preparatory period towards the next war anyway. It seems quite prudent in today's world more than ever, given that "more you sweat in peace, the less you bleed in war" is age-old wisdom.

Israel will remain a spoiler regardless of outcome of this deal, today or after 10 years. The onus is on US to make this deal long lasting by leashing Israel.

It surely can do that if the will of upholding the deal is real.

All geopolitical commitments are two way streets, never one-sided, and subject to change given ever-evolving national interests. And this applies to USA, Iran and Israel equally, before and after this agreement.

It is going to take lots of hard work by all sides involved to keep this process going.
