I think the influence of Israel over the US politics has been exaggerated to some extent.
The US allows Israel to do what it wants to do because the US wants to maintain order and the status quo in the region, not the other way around. Israel has successfully suppressed every resistance movement in the region for decades. Without Israel, the US would've been dragged into perpetual wars in the Middle East to control the resources of our region. There's no doubt that this is a win-win situation for both the US and Israel.
Sure, Jewish billionaires buy politicians in the US, and they control the media, Hollywood, banking, financial systems, etc. but at the end of the day, the people who are in actual control of the US as a whole are Americans of European origin, mainly WASPs.

I used to to have this simplistic idea that it was just the Israeli Lobby that is responsible for the wars in the Middle East but over last 2-3 years, I have a rethink of that. The Lobby indeed works for Israel but there are the gains for America as well as you have hinted toward in your post. If Petro Dollar wasn't enough then also consider how many trillions the rich Arab countries have invested in basically unusable weaponry bought from America.
Having said that, Americans were glad to have left a dominant Israel to help with the gravy train of trillion of dollars of wealth continue except the problem is that there are too many Americans and too many Israelis who have done, what we call in software engineering, 'feature creep': Expansion of the Israeli borders based on ideological reasons. And that expansion has been facing resistance and here we are: Israel has become a liability now.

I understand that. But as long as the US is the one who has to pay the price, Israel will push the US into continuing hostilities in some form or another. Whether it’s kinetic, adding more sanctions, arming terrorists, another attempt at a revolution etc.

Yeah, I don’t buy that. The US has endless things to offer in exchange for those resources. Without Israel, they don’t need to steal anything. They don’t need to deal with any resistance group. They wouldn’t get dragged into all the Middle East wars. All of it is for Israel.
