I have a hypothesis. It's possible that the military approach has reached a stalemate and that, in reality, Donald Trump accepts Iran as a nuclear military power. The fact that he isn't continuing attacks (given the potential coalition with Israel and Saudi Arabia) is striking. But it's even more surprising that the United States is allowing Saudi Arabia to acquire nuclear technology. This implies that if they accept a nuclear Iran and can't destroy its program, they will at least try to drag other rivals into nuclear arms development as well.
