Just as when Iran retaliated at Israel, Trump had to threaten regime change and boast big attack to finally save the face and get a deal to stop the war (although iran got damaged then of course)
My belief :
- during the 12 days war, Iran retaliated and trump boasted big intervention in order to stop the war, but ultimately this proved somehow to be a play (yes iran got damaged of course)
- now I don't know if the rioters are still in high activity, but it seems Kurdish terrorists and jaish ul adl attacks failed, maybe, maybe, maybe, this option is also proving to be a failure and then they want to pressure iran to avoid retaliation against IL.

Iran screwed up its relation with the entire neighborhood riding on the American WoT. Now it find itself facing this mess. It also wasted billions on useless proxies which it could have spent in its people and avoided or mitigated the harsh economic pressures.

Having said that. If “they” succeed in Iran, they will use it as springboard to destabilize and subdue the entire region. Pakistan and Türkiye will be next on their target (via Iran).

Proxies weren’t useless to be fair. Its just that the AoR belonged to Soleimani. IRI feared Soleimani had become too powerful, they got rid of him and the AoR died with him.
