I agree. American firepower is enough but a war with Iran won’t be cheap. It would be an enormous victory for Trump if he could convince the euros to take much of the financial cost.

Who doesn't want free money?? But we already saw news of some European countries moving their 'assets' toward Iran. There is no 'hard bargain' between Greenland and Iran. Europeans are all too glad contribute their little bit to enjoy the larger benefits they have been getting from being part of the American sphere of influence, getting a lot of freebies from America. But things are changing rapidly when much more than a paltry contribution is asked of Europe. Macron can try to appease by being helpful against Iran but won't impress Trump. He really wants Greenland and, unless he is able to constrain Netanyahu's wishes, he may strike Iran.
Relevant to this thread is the bottomline: Netanyahu will not stop trying to destroy Iran as long as Trump is the President.

Iranian military personnel are Muslims; Soleimani and all of them were believing soldiers, just like in the early days of Islam "mujjahideen".

Being muslim does not mean state should be one as well. Iran is Muslim because thats what our qizilbash empire chose the state religion to be (a mistake IMO). They could have turned the entire empire into religion-less had they wanted, they were a pseudo superpower of their time. Clinging to old identities mean nothing in modern world.

He is quoting an Israeli official saying that Israel cannot trust a unified Iran, which turned from friendly to hostile to friendly again to not turn hostile again. So the best outcome for Israel is a fragmented Iran along the lines of Libya or Syria.
That Israel tolerates American vassals states like Egypt or Jordan as unified may well be because there are already too many fronts to deal with, so save those states for later.

Government selling way more than it buys should see more money. If there is still a big deficit it means the export money is not reaching the central bank.

I believe the Shamkhanis also control much of the tanker fleet, am I wrong?
