Iran’s leadership seem awfully confident for the prospect of war. Maybe they realize war for peace is the only way to secure a lasting deal and secure their enrichment rights.

Risky bet that supposes that after Iran kills US soldiers, US will be willing to negotiate and make peace with Iran and open their economy up to each other.

Not sure I agree with that given how rabid the U.S. Congress is these days.

I think the US plans to hit Iran AD and naval assets and then leave the rest upto Israel. The huge US presence is meant to deter Iran from attacking the GCC cucks or close Straits of Hormuz.

UAE + US might try to take the islands in the Strait by force from Iran.

The first we will know of this will be when the NOTAM's start kicking in. We had a NOTAM a few weeks ago when it looked like the USA was going to attack.

Can Iran declare NOTAMS that cover the airspace over Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Iraq on the basis of military operations ? @RescueRanger ?

This is plausible....except for leaving Israel to take credit....Trump doesn't operate like that, he's an attention hog, he wants to take credit for the Iran pounding. I doubt, he will hit and then quit.
As I often said I'm not a military person, but I do know a thing or two about history. The Americans are playing a very foolish games. It will be hard to miss the naval assets, because there's so much of it in the vicinity. Iran will undoubtedly draw blood before getting pounded. I hope the Americans know this....and I hope the Iran Iraq War will serve as a reminder that the Iranians will not quit till they cannot possibly continue. Oil will be 200 bucks and the GCC will be have its energy infrastructure on fire. If Trump likes his stock market he better think twice about this.

I think Turkey and Pakistan will be the next ones to begin feeling the heat. Turkish long term vision for the Mideast is in competition with Israel's and Pakistani nukes/missiles will never be tolerable or acceptable to Israel or the West. It will be a long game though, played over the next 20 years.

I don't think West or Israel will act against their collaborators the Saudis, Egyptians etc.

They're already talking smack about Turkey.....but I will tell you this, they won't attack Turkey, they will get the US to mount sanctions on it first to wane the popularity of the govt.....that's their MO.

The force deployed against Iran now is MASSIVE. That's why I preferred Preemptive Strikes when the amount of US assets are so few so IRGC can take them out one-by-one... Now, IRGC has to fight and face a MASSIVE force right out in the open simultaneously.

Does Iran even have enough missiles, drones and munitions to overwhelm and saturate not only Carrier Battle Groups, but overwhelm defences at dozens of US Bases and Israeli targets? Based from my analysis, Iran literally needs hundreds of launchers, thousands of MRBMs and IRBMs and 10,000+ SRBMs of all types to confidently overwhelm the AD from all those bases and carrier battle groups.

Compared to sinking ships and rendering US bases inoperable due to massive destruction, closing the Hormuz Strait is however much easier done as Iran has thousands of naval mines, anti-ship cruise missiles and tens of thousands of MLRS rockets and thousands of the launchers... all hidden inside caves and camouflaged positions with some decoys too here and there.

lets see what bases the USAF actually uses. if they directly use bases in those countries for offensive operations against Iran, I agree with you.
