Suddenly the arm chair generals on here are now sovereign wealth fund managers as well. I been hearing the dollar is collapsing for 15+ years.

Meanwhile, the rial continues to hit even more worthless levels. But sure the U.S. is the one facing imminent economic collapse.

China doesn’t want the dollar to collapse, Russia doesn’t want the dollar to collapse, no sane country on the planet wants the dollar to collapse. It’s quite simple why, the collapse of the most trusted fiat currency that underpins the world reserve system would mean the widespread loss of investor faith in the concept of fiat.

That risks a contagion event spreading to other currencies as people rush to dump fiat for gold or precious metals or assets with store of value in a frenzied panic similar to how bank runs happen, but on a larger scale and all around the world.

While the U.S. fiscal situation is certainly worrying. Pointing to trillion dollar deficits or GDP ratios and making some grand correlation is meaningless. You cannot use these to gauge WHEN contagion will happen. It could happen in 5 years or 50 years or 500 years.

Japan has carried very very high debt to gdp ratios and hasn’t imploded. You could instead argue Japan could implode from its Xenophobic society coupled with negative population spiral, then from its high debt to gdp it has been running.

Taking one or two statistics and trying to make a grand conclusion on such a complex system that is made up of hundreds of factors is just absurd.

if that were remotely true, USA would not be having slums in their cities.

regarding Japan, it is a manufacturing giant and was one well before China. But, Japnese living standards have not improved over the years

and, yes, dollar collapse due to overspending in defense is real, one example is soviet union, which was also a manufacturing juggernaut

i know, it is hard to believe, look at the state of Germany, it is as if this country does not even exist now, it has become so financially irrelevant. Russians, had caused implosion in the banking system of Germany well before COVID

collapse of Soviet Union also showed, even if a country is largest wheat producer or largest oil reserves holder, still does not make 'collapse proof'!

Imagine the converse... if he does and gets it handed... Iran takes it on and invades the bases where assets are stationed... the A2/AD works in favor of Iran... it keeps the aggressor at bay... distant and in constant peril. It makes the most important thing in an invasion... uninterrupted supplies to the theater in jeopardy. Not planes but bases they land at... the carriers... eyes and ears...

I've been saying this for months, but they keep repeating the same fake news always: now CNN says that "Iran will be invaded in 48 hours" but...a month ago, Reuters said that "Iran would be invaded within 24 hours"... a month has passed and nothing has happened. These are fake news about hybrid warfare; the objective is to try to destabilize Iran. There will be no open war, What could happen is an attempted media attack, Venezuela-style.
