I think this visit carries a larger perspective.

India has been repeatedly battered by Trump in recent months. This includes tariffs, verbal attacks, diplomatic arm twisting, etc.

Modi is probably looking to be in the good books of Israel to get benefits in Washington. If ever Israel needed every ounce of support and help, it is now.

Strange coming from an Iranian: JCPOA happened despite staunch opposition by Israel and I believe Iranians were generally satisfied with JCPOA and would love to go back to the days of JCPOA / Barack Obama.
JCPOA was good but no one could see an American President would rubbish a UNSC / several key countries backed arrangement which it took years to happen, where an American President took considerable political risk to make it happen. No one foresaw what Trump would really do on many things--he is a phenomenon in himself.

In the JCPOA, the Lausanne agreement before it, Iran fully implemented its obligations beforehand, and only after verification by the IAEA, they were supposed to lift the sanctions. Even Obama didn't honor the JCPOA, let alone Trump. In fact, the Obama administration imposed more sanctions on Iran after the JCPOA, including a visa-waiver ban for traveling to Iran.

Negotiators and experts from the previous administration before Hasan Rohani and Zarif, right-wing media like Keyhan and Mashreghnews, nuclear experts, patriotic Iranians inside and abroad, they all said that the JCPOA was a terrible deal that effectively set Iran's nuclear program back by 10-15 years without a single bullet fired and it gave Iran nothing but promises that would never be fulfilled.

The snapback mechanism in the JCPOA is an unprecedented example of unconditional capitulation by the Ayatollah regime. There has never been such a clause in any UNSC-passed resolution. It was ridiculous. It effectively neutralized the veto power of Russia and China and gave the full control of the JCPOA to the United States and Europeans.

Trump did nothing unpredictable. In fact, Trump was pretty generous on Iran because he could've activated the snapback mechanism, but instead decided to leave the agreement. If anything, Trump played very nicely.

If JCPOA was that bad, then why did the Iranians signed on to that in the first place? Who sign onto a 'capitulation', eh??! If it was so bad then why the Iranians didn't like when Trump ripped it apart? If it was so bad, then why there are voices about JCPOA 2 these days?
Iran didn't get a lot out of the Obama JCPOA but still that opened a door for future engagements, or at least lessening of tensions. The JCPOA was opposed by Iran's bitterest enemy Israel, which itself tells me that was something in JCPOA for Iran!!

It was capitulation and treason all in the same deal. Iran had hardly signed such one-sided agreement in modern times after the Turkmenchai Treaty. We literally gave up on our rights under the NPT for promises that were obviously empty and were never meant to be fulfilled.

Some people seem to have an inaccurate understanding of history.
The JCPOA was established under a clear agreement between Obama and Israel. At that time, both Syria and Hezbollah were still intact, so Obama and Netanyahu agreed that attacking Iran was not feasible.
It was later revealed by officials within the Obama administration that Israel then staged a pretense of collaborating with Obama to bomb Iran, forcing Iran to submit and agree to the JCPOA.
The JCPOA was a trap designed from the outset to neutralize Iran, and the 2025 bombing was a pre-planned action all along.
The US never intended to lift restrictions after ten years.
The US and Israel are completely united, yet foolishly, the Iranian people are utterly deceived.
Netanyahu must be laughing uncontrollably at how Iran falls for this good cop/bad cop scam every single time.

Israel was mad as hell with JCPOA and Iran perfectly happy, it was not a "zio-usa" trap to Iran, it was just another USA backstab to longterm allies, like they did hundreds time last decade.

You need to re-read my post above instead of jumping on me or calling your leadership to have committed 'treason'. It was not a great deal and I agree to that extent but it was a start and everything pointed toward the Iranian republic accepting that as a path forward and it was bitterly opposed by Israel. But for you to imply, as you said above, that Israel 'PRETENDED' to dislike really shows you little understanding you had of JCPOA and the geopolitics surrounding that.
JCPOA was a good start and Iran would take a JCPOA 2 if offered today. And Iran should. Not many options are on the table for Iran.
