Targeting the most prominent figure of a country, the "Supreme" Leader, is not a limited attack. It's a declaration of all-out war.

But again, we live in a country where Mullahs rule over it. So, they might let this one pass just like last time that they refused to declare war.

Are there reports he was targeted ? I don't think they could get to him.

But yeah Iranian response will be calculated. We'll have ceasefire sooner than 12 days of last time. And probably a nuclear deal announced.

It depends on how it turns out.
If it becomes a long attrition war with thousands of US casualties, then yes. But this is very unlikely.

But if it turns out to be a short strike in a way that the US can claim they have closed the case of Iran, and helped the protestors, then it will be absolutely welcomed in the US.
