You do not get it, bases are being destroyed in order that you not return ever.

Dude, they nuke Nagasaki, and people return to live there, in less than 50 years, so no less. I don't know what you know about Battlefield Damage. But it takes a lot for a base to be uninhabitable. In fact, over 2000 mortar and artillery attacks in Iraq and Afghanistan caused various degrees of damage. I never had a base Icould nott return to, and Artillery did more damage than missiles ever could. One is an area-effect weapon; the other is point-to-point.

we don't seem to have mass produced LACMs (even Ya Ali 700km range would be good) so should use stand off missiles from fighter jets over Persian Gulf and drones instead

Actually no. The GCC signed up to American bases to ensure the protection and support for the ruling autocrats and to have a license to live a life of luxury , as long as they spent their money in the West. These attacks violate the American shield they depend upon , makes their rulers look like weak collaborators and ruins their plans on becoming the next Florida/Las Vegas/Monaco/Silicon Valley. It is a very high price they were never supposed to pay.

The fact that all this is happening because of Israel and not even something America needs, makes it even worse.

As I said, Trump even said American life is at stake, so GCC knows this is going to burn him and if they don't want it to happen, they would stop Trump, now whether or not they can do it, that's another story, but there are price to pay and there aren't much player in the area, rolling back to 1991 Iraq war, those time were worse than it was today, and that still hasn't change.
