KSA was the voice of reason among the Arab countries, and their mutual relations with Iran had certainly evolved over the past few months.

This is just a shoot yourself in the foot moment.

I am not sure about that, how can Saudi provide bases for USAF to operate from, and ignore them? Given the Saudi are allowing for EW/Refuellers to operate from their airbases in active combat operations against Iran, isn't the real question of why Saudi is not concerned about their new found relations with Iran by support an attack ?

Relations with KSA never materially benefited Iran - they do not have control over their territory to prevent attacks being launched from their territory, and cannot sway US foreign policy.

No evidence that Iran "targeted" civilian infra. Iran is doing quite well at targeting military assets, IMHO.
