Because it was late morning/early afternoon and made a huge mistake thinking US only attacks at night. In a way I'd likely think the same since it is very dangerous for strike aircraft during broad daylight making them more susceptible optically to AAA. Vast majority of fighters shot down in Vietnam was due to AAA during day raids.

That is not true. At much It is a 900 cruise missile launches. There are 0 Evidences of any fighter aircrafts not only inside Irán, even in Persian Gulf there are not seen only just a fighter.
