This was a weak strike against Israel.

There is still another 4-5 hours till sun rise, but I was expecting a much larger salvo (100+ missiles) fired at Israel.

If Iran wants to drag this out, won't a drip drip approach be better than huge salvos ?

That's the problem. If the US can come to the help of some countries openly, why can't China and Russia do that?

1. China is buying time. When the US gets tired, China can play the role of mediator.
2. China thinks the recent attack on Iran is not undermining its strategic interests. So it can wait until the US gets stuck, then it can bleed the US.
3. China lacks capacity. It can help if Iran can fight, but can't help directly due to capacity issues.
