It seems like a strategy of deterrence and it could possibly work still in that regard. There are no qualms that it was always a lopsided affair. No country has won a war randomly bombing other countries. Iran is just throwing projectiles everywhere and hoping some hit something.
That’s not a long term war strategy. Iran has lost its airspace. Israel and U.S. will continue hitting the targets they want while Iran will pray they hit something of value. It’s a lopsided affair.
There is no win-win. If Iran wanted war thru peace, it should have initiated it on its own terms like Russia did in 2022 rather than waiting for the war to come to Iran without having a choice.
But iran was so considered about public opinion and optics that it didn’t even launch a war when Israel destroyed its embassy in Syria. That’s a sign the system has no honor. Destroying an embassy is an act of war.
But iran wouldn’t defend its honor when it’s generals died in Syria, when it’s nuclear program was attacked repeatedly the past 20 years, when it’s embassy was attacked, when it’s officials assassinated, etc.
The system has failed. A new system needs to be built focused on economic prosperity and technological progress since clearly War fighting is not this systems strong suit, engineering is.
If it continues like this, the new system would not be an Iranian system in the making.
