Does Iran mean it when it says it doesn't want to attack it's neighbors ? Yes . But can it afford not to? No it can't.

It's not attacking Saudi infrastructure. It may have fired at a US base in Saudi.

It is attacking Emirate infrastructure because, well, they are not well liked around Muslim world and that's an opportunity to raise costs for US, Israel and whomever else keep launching attacks on Iran and pushing for regime change/fragmentation of Iran.

Iran has to raise the costs for everybody for them to at least back off for a year or two.

That's why it cannot agree to a ceasefire so soon and may have to continue exercising it's right of retailation.

And it's also not worth it going to a ceasefire with no sanction relief. As US will continue choking Iranian economy to foment civil unrest.

Right now, it seems that Iran is only going after USA and Israeli installations in UAE and soldiers in hotels etc.

if UAE does commit a hostile act against Iran, then Iran can literally line up artillery and well start to indiscriminately hit UAE if they wanted to.

Best thing for UAE, is to soak it up and tell its population that Iran is only going after USA/Israel stuff on its terriority.

I hope to God Saudi Arabia stays out of this. Houthis are being held at bay right now. They will be unleashed on Saudi Arabia if Saudis join the US-Israel-France-Germany-UK and potentially UAE -- in strikes on Iran

Iran has Air Defence Im sure, it is switch off/on as required or predicted. There is a risk/cost calculation for sure. Remember, they said 8 months ago they destroyed 100% of iranian air defence.

Yep, while the French has one aircraft carrier, it's not much really. Just one carrier battle group that is not even on the same size and same combat ability as one US carrier battle group.

If even the Houthis can fight one US Carrier battle group to a standstill for 2 months last year, then Iran can easily sink a French carrier if it comes within range near the Persian Gulf.
