Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

From what hidden airfield will they be able to fly?

Realistically speaking, if Iran had an air force, the airfields would be hit first. And if Iran cannot hide its air defence units, there is no way it can hide airstrips, hangars etc.

I don't think Iran ever had a chance using conventional means. It has to think outside the box completely.
If Iran had a credible air force, they would be in the air before any airfields get hit in any significant manner.

Besides, airfield repair is a quick fix.

I think Iran was very smart to invest in its BM program. Its more survivable and creates more deterrence under the circumstances Iran lives in.

No matter how strong your airforce is. It will survive only few days against a super power. The more lasting deterrence will be your missile force.

I am not undermining the value of Airforce at all. But realistically Iran could have only 300 to 400 fighter jets. That threat can be eliminated sooner than BMs which were in 10s of thousands and that too in hardened underground facilities.
As you can see, Israel and the US currently are bombing Iran with little to no challenge.

An airforce, even if it lasts a few days, would have allowed Iran to lob missiles under safer circumstances for much longer and under air protection.

Israel has 300 jets, and look at how much havoc they can create with that number.

400 modern jets backed by an effective IADs and base defence is a deterrence that you don't want to deal with period.

But if safety measures like Very Hardened Shelters and some 1-2 jets hiding in caves can be implemented securely, having at least 100 4th gen fighters is better than nothing, as you can still keep the BM force but now the enemy has to spend lots more time finding out where the fighters are kept and hidden while still having to find and take out BM launchers.

May be out of the place. The serious Turkish analysts are now crying for nuclear weapons (not the ones under the NATO command)....

That time is long gone. Countries that started by the 80s succeeded. Now, at best, countries can make alliances with nuclear states now, but nobody's getting any new Nuclear weapons anymore. Maybe 1971 was a blessing in disguise that pushed us. Otherwise Pakistan would have been sitting with nothing in hand, as well.

NK was a rare anomaly in this rule, coz they were a rogue disconnected secretive authoritarian state protected by China.
