Conventional ballistic missiles suck when it comes to trying to take out military weapon systems and strategic targets. The 12 day war was a great example of that with hundreds and hundreds of missiles launched at Israel and not one was able to take out a IAF fighter on the ground or slow down IAF operations. Nothing beats a strike fighter with 2000lb JDAMS and GBUs when it comes to taking out bases, runways and targeted killings.

Nothing also beats the 100 million USD an airframe getting turned into twisted metal on ground when you face USAF/USN, IAF all combined. Airforce, unless underground, cant help us.
