The Lebanese are not a united people. Plenty of Phalangists still around. For this reason they cannot proffer a united singular policy and are perpetually susceptible to civil war if triggered by Israel.

Israel has Airborne Command and Control aircraft, and if they were not using them, they would most definitely use the US AWACS asset. On the other hand, I am pretty sure Mossad and CIA had Spy Sat tasked on Iran 24/7 for SATINT and SIGINT.

It's almost impossible for Israel to lose early warning capability in the region........
