Huge impacts at Bahrain oil
Iran can shut down the strait in 4 ways:
- go for the root: hit production facilities
- go for the tankers: hit the capacity to transport the oil
- mine the strait: physical blockade, without hitting the tankers
- combination of above mentioned ways
Iran's doctrine didn't rely on those big ships anywayYou need a navy for that; Iran lost its Naval fleet last I checked.![]()

Well you got to understand that Russia and China are both nuclear-armed, and so is US and Israel. They want to avoid a "Cuban Missile Crisis" stand off for now because they have their own priorities now at the moment. Russia and China could step in, but I think they are confident Iran can handle this alone for now, as they both have an interest in seeing the US get bogged down in this Iran War.I am amazed people still think in terms of good and evil and friends and enemies. There are NO such concepts in international geopolitics.
USA is doing exactly what Iran and Pakistan are doing: pursuing their own national interests, as best as possible. That is all.
Iran has pursued its own national interests, and it has come to this point that is is under direct attack, without a lot of support from any other country. Geopolitically, that is an abysmal failure, no matter what divine or regious or moral cover one may wish to give it. Now, it must bear the consequences and try to mitigate the situation as best as possible.
All is not lost at this point, however, and compromises are always better for outcomes, for all sides.
(Similarly, Pakistan will be okay if it plays its cards better than what Iran has done. But that discussion belongs in some other thread, not here.)
Sinking ships is a double-edged sword. Most countries do not want a global recession and would not want passage through the Straits of Hormuz to be more permanently impaired. If Iran starts sinking ships, it will turn countries that are still relatively on the fence against it.The order from Trump is a sign of desperation, not one of confidence. He looks at the Markets more than he looks at anything else.
We shall see how well this goes for the USA/USN. With a few sunken ships in the wrong location, then no amount of escorting will work.
That is untrue. Irás has not invaded no one and didn't supported any of two genocides in the last 5 years (Yemen and Gaza) and doesn't even initiated and attack by themselves with the only exception of Pakistán because of BLA.
Trumpy wants to add Iranian oil on that list too. We are seeing out in the open piracy.Wow! This administration has set its own mark for beghairati.
"The Trump Administration will continue to unleash American energy dominance, and tap into our newfound oil in Venezuela."
This is open ghunda gardi. Focus on the word "our".
The Wildcat's were in the UK for deployment with RN Dragon - but since she is currently unable to sail due to emergency overhauls - the Helicopters will be dispatched first. RAF Akrotiri has 13th Sqdn and 82 Expeditionary Sqdn with the ability to provide air defense for the base.
The UK is just not equipped or prepared for war.
Sure, but when that "national interest" calls for nuking the illegal entity, and being open about it, don't be surprised about what's happening now then.
Iran still has its missile boats and underground naval missile/boat basesWhole Naval fleet?
