It’s looking they are trying to keep their promise even if trump says hey ok we’re done they should keep it up for a week than call it day themselves keep it up for a couple of weeks if possible with the Israelis

If Iran tests or shows signs of having a nuclear weapon it won't suddenly be saved. The war and sanctions can still easily be continued just like India/Afghanistan being at war with Pakistan. Or Ukraine/NATO with Russia.

What it does do is help Iran control the escalation ladder. So if they arguably had them 6 years ago, they could have hit back much harder when soleimani was killed, damaging American bases more and establishing more deterrence making the subsequent attacks against it weaker such as the one on Iranian embassy which could have also arguably avoided or delayed both wars
