Maybe you forgot that Iran is taking on 2 nuclear powers with most advanced military equipment in the world. Without a proper airforce and just an arsenal of missiles. When they shoot a missile how many obstructions they have to evade before reaching israel? With whatever they have, Iran is doing much better than anyone else in their place would have. Their plan is to prolong the war and they dont want to exhaust their missile stockpile so early. Even a child can understand the game.

This particular attack was likely done by Hezbollah and not Iran. There are also still some groups inside Syria loyal to the resistance.
