Strategically, capturing this will not help solve USA's problems. The problem USA has that the global economy will start grinding to a halt if this carries on. Even if the USA captures this terminal, they don't get control of the oil. The oil is in the mainland, not in the terminal. Iran will turn off the tabs, and combined with the lack of flow of oil from the PGCC, it will accelerate the oil starvation issues, not solve them.

Also, they can only capture this island via an airborne drop and will need to establish an air bridge to maintain it and that is where the Russian MANPADs will come into the equation, this will be costly in every metric of measurement out there. The USA cannot transit the Strait of Hormuz to get to the Island.

If anything... it opens the door for Iran to send troops in Bahrain and Qatar's military bases. It is far easier for them to sustain and occupy them than it is for any other to hold the island while Iranian drones are still flying with impunity.
And in fact Iran can lay claim to Bahrain and this may just pave the path.

Delusional, so much shite spouted by people on here. The Americans would just fly Apaches overhead and obliterate anything from miles away. American forces are huge, they have lost a dozen people, Iranian navy and air force doesn't exist, their ground forces are basically a poorly equipped militia which would be wiped out with minimal effort.

All Iran has is attacking shopping and ballistic missiles which really like the original V1 rockets from nazi Germany are more of a terror weapon, they might destroy a few houses, they really don't have much capability aside from fear, small payloads.
