They are not scared of west but they are mad at iran. Iran is hitting commercial targets like tankers and buisnesses important to china in mid east. China’s support in this war is heavily exaggerated they are mostly nuetral and dont want to be seen as picking sides even if it means not sending aid

I'm surprised Iran has not launched many cruise missiles to date. I had expected these to be in huge stockpiles.

They already made exemption to let Chinese vessels pass through from the very beginning..

The vast ships going thru Hormuz are too China. There is 30M barrels of oil in tankers also situated off of China’s infamous teapot refineries.

The reason China is not overtly supporting anyone is because it has huge business with the Arab monarchs.

But MBS also betrayed China, had China broker peace deal with Iran and then turned around and gave its airspace and U.S. bases full green light to wage war on Iran. This can embarrass China as a mediator if it’s trying to play more an active role in geopolitics of regions.

Moreover, GCC countries have repeatedly stated that US bases in their countries are NOT being used to attack Iran and are only used to defend against attacks by Iran (shooting down drones and missiles etc.).

May be they don't have a choice in this matter whether their territory can be used or not. And that is probably why they are focused on defending instead of attacking.
