Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

If there is one thing that can be said about this war, based on history, this will be a long war and results unpredictable. Iraq-Iran war lasted nearly a decade and achieved nothing of significance. So did the 2003 Iraq war. Afghanistan war by USSR lasted a decade, whereas the one by U.S. took two decades to end in a deadlock with nothing to show. Pakistan's war on Afghanistan has just started, so hard to predict when or how it will end. Even the war in tiny Gaza has lasted over two years and ended in a deadlock with no solution. Only the limited Gulf war of 1991 had some degree of completeness in liberating Kuwait, though even that led to an incomplete solution with Saddam still in power.

All the wars you mentioned above had significant ground forces involvements; Ukraine-Russia war is also lasting a long time. Azerbaijan-Armenia of a few years ago also comes to mind but I don't know where to categorize that.

This war is more similar to the aerial war on Serbia in late 90s or the brief India-Pakistan aerial conflicts in 2019 and 2025 with minimal ground forces involvements.

This war is different because it has truly become 'existential' in nature for both sides. An ascendant Iran will be really bad for Israel and for the American presence in the Middle East and a defeated Iran would be bad for Iran's very integrity and sovereignty and that's why this war is going to last a long time, even though this conflict, unlike any other conflict since WW II has far reaching implications. Look at the number of countries already started to be impacted and the number of people affected. The oil supply crisis already the worst ever, the pharma, the agriculture (urea), travel/tourism... And this is only 2+ weeks old while the Houthis have yet to fully jump in over the Suez Canal trade.

UAE tells the world they still intend to be the donkey of America! Amazing!

Expected. GCC has no choice. Their leaders are mere vassalised tools of another regime. After this war, GCC will remain Tel Aviv's property. It is the wider world that will change/realign its perspectives (Pakistan, India, China, Russia, EU, UK and others).

Answering Trump's call for help in Middle East 'political suicide' for allies

Looks like the Zionists doesn't have the stranglehold on Europeans like they have on US. Good for them for realizing its better to stay out of this war.

Things not working out for India now, I think Iran has firmly placed them as a potential enemy

These two gas carriers are what the Iranians allowed, in returning for returning 3 oil tankers that India has seized I think.

Will be interesting to see if and when more are allowed to transit.
