Whether this airbase or hitting ben gurion airport or others a ground penetration warhead seems to be much more effective. A crater can be covered by asphalt but a large explosion underground changes the position of the slabs on the airfield or collapses the runway so repairing it would take much more time replacing all the slabs. Cluster is also good making small holes on the runway and it will take time to patch all of them to make it operational again. Ofcourse planes if seen can be targeted as well on the surface that is better.
