Looks like the projectile was intended to deceive missile defence.
 
Unlike most pro peace journalists from the West who are on social media only, Dimitri Lascaris has actually arrived in Iran just recently to cover the war and the atrocities falling on Iranian cities, and the resilience of the Iranian people. I think he made it from a land crossing from Turkey to Tabrez and now in Tehran.

I think this war also gives a good opportunity for Pakistan to seek a waiver for buying Iranian oil and gas and re-export them. Both will benefit, and oil prices might also stabilise. I am no oil and gas expert, so I must giving a conjecture.
