There are two things that needs to be done to protect high value people like these. Firstly they should be protected in bunkers-underground tunnels even if they dont want to. They have responsibilities for the country and it is not their personal choice it is more than their personal choice. Same as protecting high value politicians.

Second measure is for technical personnel like these and missile, nuclear experts they should digitalize their knowledge to be stored in protected bunkers and if they are taken down from those stored expertise the knowledge can still be handed over to subordinates as much as possible.

A few of my posts above, I had mentioned the significance of the Pakistan-China joint statement with the 5 points to try to control this conflict. As I had said, after meeting the FMs of Iran, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, the Pakistani FM wouldn't rush off to China just for the photo-ops.
Starting about this point of this video, this guy is alluding to some larger plan. English captions available. You only have to watch just 2-3 minutes though.

There is a missile base there as well. But also an airbase. And an artillery munitions storage bunkers. The latter is what many believe were detonated, but this video chain clearly shows attacks against mountain based tunneling.
