Anyway, that doesn't change my point which is China's option of pre-emptive strike to curb a US military buildup for war. An option that Iran did not have because we're not a nuclear state and we're not a permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Ship escort is going to be the same regardless of whether or not you are escorting the Atlantic convoy in 1942 or escorting a cargo ship from Somali pirates in 2013 or through the Strait of Hormuz. That's the same convoy system, that's the same convoy protection, that's the same tactics. You run a lead destroyer in front, a tailer destroyer behind, and 4 to 6 escort ships (maybe a corvette, maybe a frigate) pulling picket in a box formation, surrounding the ship you need to escort?

And are you seriously saying or suggesting that we should do an escort with an aircraft carrier? How about asking Trump himself on a sampan and flying a flag that said "Shoot here"?

If you know nothing, maybe best for you to not talk about anything?

Well a part of my brain finds it hard to believe but I am seeing a small chance of trump surrendering to iran on tomorrow,s address(6am pakistani time)to nation on Iran war. Reason can be pressure against him building in US and realizing the war can't be won. The things they are justifying to end the war sounds so humiliating rather than face saving. There is no face saving. Some permanent reputational damage has already done to US even if the war ends today.

I would hope that would be the plan but most probably he will announce start of ground action or God forbid Use of Nukes!

As for the UAE, they really are a devil and playing with fire. They have it coming for them if they try assisting the US with a ground invasion.
