Taking the nuclear material sounds asinine. The uranium gas canisters are either buried deep under rubble (are they air dropping yellow iron excavation equipment?) or removed and hidden in multiple locations.
Taking Kharg is equally non sensical. logistics aside, it will stop Iranian oil exports which is something the US doesn't want. Harassing Iranian tankers in international waters would achieve the same results without any casualties.
Bum rushing the 3 islands may be more achievable in the short term but yields no obvious strategic benefits. The strait will remain in Iranian control.

If it was only that simple. Taking and holding are two different things... as soon as that is attempted or acquired the nature of conflict changes. Holding the same is an untenable proposition. Especially when that is being done through hosts entities in the Gulf who'll come under near permanent fire. Only for US to abandon it... only the duration, if taken, will matter. This is already the most expensive one month excursion EVER in the history of US.
