Honestly not sure what they could do about them. You either have to bait them into radar horizon range of the anti-ship missiles or use area denial weapons like a nuke to make swathes of a sea unviable to sail in.
Or a giant fleet of submarines, but the US has that too...

it was reportedly seen flying very low over Iran, deploying flares.

The U.S. forces are highly likely searching the pilots of downed F-15E jet.

Claim needs proof. Kub needs a separate radar vehicle to guide the missile. Makes no sense to deploy a launcher by itself. So unless there is some evidence of the vehicle in active service, it's an old decommissioned launcher used as a decoy.

You're right, there isn't much that we can do in practice.
I was thinking about a swarm attack on USS Gerald Ford while passing through the Red Sea, but I'm not sure if the Houthis are willing to go down for us.

We should at least keep them as farthest as possible from our shores.

Yeah, if it is a desperate CSAR op running against time before Iran gets the pilot(s) the Americans may well now take more risks, and also CSAR by it's very nature will expose more US assets to ground fire. This could get messy now...
