Frankly, the struggle to find the pilot is a serious matter for Iran.
The area around Ahvaz, being an oil-rich region and easily accessible from Kuwait, is considered one of the primary targets for a US invasion.
It's an area that should have been adequately defended beforehand.
The fact that they showed such vulnerability and allowed such an easy intrusion is extremely dangerous. It could give the impression that seizing territory would be easy if the battle turned to ground combat.

it's a massive rural and mountainous area near the border, the pilots have GPS tracking and comms devices, so the US knows exactly where to go, while Iran has no idea

and the helicopter and A-10 sent to rescue the pilot were both hit and damaged by Iranian air defences anyway
