Yup, Trump has pretty much lost his mind. Based on how many people have been fired recently in both admin and military, one should assume that there is widespread disapproval of this conflict with Iran and to keep it going.

Why can't Iran "just receive" new AD systems from China?
When iran has a strong relationship and strategic partnership with China and is in a war that most of the Chinese population sees Iran as being the victim of the war?

What you both are referring to is European colonialist and imperialist history in the region. That was the work of Great Powers of that time as they carved out spheres of influence among themselves. He wasn't looking good lately. Maybe he got some sort of flu or seasonal cold coronavirus. I don't think they will just remove him like this. They could make him a lame duck president by impeach him. People are not liking what he has done with Iran.

And I didn't want to get into this. Too much discussions on it and so unnecessary. But here it is anyway.
So my own background is Sunni, not that I care much for such things, but it is what it is. One of my uncles is Muhammad Ali and one of my cousins is Muhammad Hussein. One of my uncles is Muhammad Farooq. My dad was Abdul Ghani. You know where I am going with this.
But some people think too much about these things. Some 7-8 months ago, I was in Skardu in northern Pakistan where I interacted with local college employees. They said something like people from that region can get profiled as Shia by the extremists in the extreme northwest of Pakistan while doing the ID checks and they get into trouble. I told them I and my family and friends don't care for such things in Karachi. To which they said, yes, Karachi is different and we feel like home in Karachi.
Pakistan's sectarian divides should go away but still on a state level, such divides don't matter in foreign policy, on career moves and even in social harmony for the most part.
