Which if true….would be embarrassing. Not sure what remote air bases exist close enough to crash site.

So yes, I believe that they communicated with him where to hide until they got the assets in place to stage the rescue.

Actually, if the Trump administration will deploy ground troops to Iran, this rescue mission definitely thought the Iranian military leaders where they have shortcomings.

It is very likely that the Iranian military leaders will provide shoulder-fired SAMs to their Basij forces. And equipping the local forces with MANPADs will definitely make future SAR operations much more difficult.

I was one of the first ones to post on here when the F-15 was shot down.

The initial pictures of some debris came around 9:30 am local time. Let’s assume that the crash actually happened 2 hours before that.

By the time I woke up (6+ hours later) the first pilot rescue operation was underway.

So that means, the window Iran had to nab both pilots was under 8 hours. After that the window swung in US favor because they would have air assets surrounding the location and able to pick off Iranian infantry.

Thus for future reference, if another fighter jet is shot down outside of major population center, then window of capture for Iran will be the first 6-8 hours.

Anyways similar incident may occur in the next upcoming days as US planes will keep violating Iranian airspace.
