That is the truth... Only few were deployed to rescue the pilot. Most of the other assets were used for other operations, majority of them failed due to resistance from Iranian forces. The rescue team knew exactly where the 2nd pilot was; the Iranian did not and that's the key. The rescue team knew exactly where they needed to go to and choosen which path to proceed to that location; the Iranian did not have that info. When you dont have the intelligence of knowing where your enemies are going, you don't have the time to muster the resources to "meet" them there and concentrate your firepower. The draw back of having such a big territory is you just don't have enough manpower to cover every area on every specific time. Should have would have could have is what we are doing now speaking after the facts while men on the field faced all the difficulties and challenges that we don't even imagine.
