Very suprised Iran never built its own version.

Iran could have built 100 of these around the capital and also at major airbases to stop drones and cruise missiles and other slow flying bombs. Wouldn’t be used against fighter jets, but Iran’s big problem is not being to stop waves of cruise missiles and high flying drones firing hellfires and PGMs.

Iran has already built naval CWIS, so not sure why they didn’t build a land version. It fits in their design philosophy because ammunition production in Iran is far cheaper than the West.

Why pick the US over Europe? Out of all the options you posed, Iran has the most potential leverage over and least animosity towards Europe.

Starting with power plants, move to desalination plants and then nuclear power plants.
