You give far too much credit to the ululations of Pakistani politicians on Twitter. Pakistan's overall governance is not based on token statements by politicians, even by the PM (hint: "hybrid system").

The Pakistan military and by extension the political government makes the decisions not the people. Just look at America, a deeply unpopular war and people are barely even protesting.

This thinking that the public in Pakistan would stop the military from making its decision is not rooted in reality.

I suspect there will need to be "some more war", before this ends as the tide is turning in Iran's favour now economically as the siege of the Straits are only now taking effect. They are taking big hits, but the cost of this war has not been fully imposed on the USA/Israel yet or the world at large.

Now the users here who disagreed with me on my comment about the difference between the Pakistani system and the Pakistani people can see I was not wrong.

Saudi Arabia is a belligerent in this war. They are constantly pushing Trump to finish Iran, and you can see whose side Shahbaz Sharif is on.

Saudi Arabia is a long-time ally of Pakistan and played a critical role when Pakistan came under sanctions during its nuclear program with strong military ties and economic ties, any sensible administration is not going to go against Saudi Arabia for the sake of Iran. This is why it is taking a balanced approach.

No government would take any different stance.

PAF jets will not "bomb Iran" under any conceivable scenario.

The Saudi's have put Pakistan in a position before when they asked Pakistan to take part in its war against Yemen, and the "defence" treaty puts in place that possibility against Iran aswell. MBS is a problem for both Saudi, and now Pakistan. Saudi needs an adult in the room urgently.

That's an assumption, not a fact. That assumption hasn't been tested. Iran certainly didn't test it. Why would they? Iran's goal was to resolve issues with the West and work on prosperity along that route. They didn't not seriously explore other routes.
