Also, China was nowhere near as strong an economic and industrial power back then, Chinese Yuan wasn't as strong back then.

Just came here to congratulate on Ceasefire and effectively Iran's victory (as No regime change happened, Iran still holds the missile / drone capability and on top now holds the Strait too.)

Also wants to brag, that all my predictions turned true, when many were disagreeing. I should have started my own "Analyst Vlog" LMAO!
Predictions that happened exactly as my views were:

1- War is inevitable, it will happen. The "armada" coming to Iran is not just for show.
2- Iran has tremendous amount of stamina to absorb bombings
3- US cannot do regime change or completely destroy Iran's missile program - hence Iran's strategic Victory on denying US its stated goals.

However, even I was not expecting one added bonus which just happened is that Iran will keep its hold/toll over strait of hormuz. Now will have to see, how much concessions both sides give during the talks. But one thing is clear that ceasefire has happened on Iran's terms. Iran is today in much more powerful position then it was before the war.

China and Russia vetoed a resolution that would have authorized force-----that’s the opposite of forcing Iran to surrender. The ceasefire came from Pakistan’s mediation, not a backroom deal with the veto. And Iran thanked China for the veto. Your timeline and logic don’t hold up.

Indeed. They agreed to be used and abused. They were calling for war on Iran for years and now they reaped what they sowed.

I hope they have enough brain cells to realize that they can't be protected by a power that cannot protect itself and cannot control urges to drag them to war.

There will be no peace, the next saga could be China/Taiwan in the Asia-Pacific.

Then the truce in the Middle East will be disrupted again.

It is just a pause for the next bigger event.

Our incompetent ministry of foreign affairs will only have triggered a much bigger war with their soft stance.
 
The ceasefire has divided even this forum so much. So what do you think is going on inside the Iranian government and military? It's clear that there is serious division and conflict. This is exactly what the aggressor is trying to manipulate by repeatedly proposing temporary ceasefires. This is a fundamental principle in Western diplomacy. There is no doubt that discontent is swirling within the military and morale has plummeted.

When it comes to the Middle East, rational thought is often absent in multiple countries. With all due respect, your post betrays a naivete about the Middle East: There is not only the natural resources, which is typical in geopolitics but also there are great emotional and civilizational issues around the Holy Places and there is the Israeli desire to expand and to bully everyone in the region. And Israel makes Washington do irrational things, contrary to America's own interests and right now Netanyahu has his man in the White House. Watch what's happening in Lebanon these days.

It won't even last 2 weeks. Israel has never honoured any peace agreement. They are opportunistic rats and will attack Iran anytime they see their military rebuilding or sight any TELs.

Expect many drone attacks from sleeper cells and Israel to remain silent.
 
While there is a high degree of elation on this ceasefire, primarily because of the escalation to unacceptable levels being subverted and that too by Pakistan's efforts, I cannot help but give due consideration to this post by Spanish PM.

It is a farce to think that the Zionists, who have never observed a ceasefire in the history of the Great cosmos, will observe one this time.
