Lebanese army is worthless

The Goverment ( of which the Army is part of ) is completely worthless.

Hezbollah resistance is vital to defend Lebanon

The Goverment had a perfect opportunity to demonstrate that they are prepared to defend the land borders of Lebanon in the recent flare up, but they instead took instructions from the Israel on where to withdraw from.

whatever legitimacy Lebanon was trying to build, by asking others to withdraw as they would take care of security is now gone.

It can't match the Israeli airforce, but Hezbollah is the reason IDF is ripped up in south Lebanon and loses multiple tanks and soldiers

Had the Government of Lebanon equipped its soldiers with anti-tank systems, and FPV's, then IDF would struggle to take any territory as the land itself is easy to defend from attacking land forces. The Government of Lebanon can mobilise its own people, and it can ask for military supplies from Muslims countries for help, things that the "local groups" cannot. The Government of Lebanon choses to not do any of this, so it is difficult to have any level of sympathy for them. Finland, Sweden have shown how you can have a civilian led defence force that be marshalled on mass when required. Israel also does this, but Lebanon does not, as with the case with all Arab countries it seems(explains why they keep losing "all" the time btw ).

In the era of FPV drones and long range anti tank missiles, Hezbollah can make life unbearable for Israel in south Lebanon

We should help Hezbollah, not call for it's disarming

The Government of Lebanon needs to take seriously the security of the country, which it does not do at the moment. The Government of Lebanon needs to build that capability first and demonstrate that it is prepared to use it, only then can any other conversations take place.

No one here is talking about The Government of Lebanon building a military that can invade Israel, just enough to stop an invasion dead in its track and that is possible at low cost, given the terrain of Lebanon itself........

UPDATE: Here is my personal take on the so called ceasefire.
It's funny to see Pakistanis celebrating it and decorating Islamabad lol and on the other side indians mourning and crying a river.
We can't trust two evils of the world called US and isreal. Specially someone unstable called Donald trump. What white house representative said recently doesn't indicate they accepted the conditions of Iran. Trump accepted his forces are just taking a break. I think after two weeks they will come with a bigger force.
Bcz it's hard to believe how can US accept the conditions presented by Iran. It's literally a surrender of a super power.
So wait and watch. As Urdu phrase goes "tail Dekho tail ki dhaaaar Dekho" . Don't celebrate early or it may come as a slap later for you.

i think PAF aircraft are not over gulf -- its spoofing they will be inside Iran, spoofing is showing them flying around over UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Saudi arabia

also PAF escorts will be there as well so the picture that we are seeing confirms PAF mission but not the location

Anyone noticing something new and interesting: The decades old Israeli narrative in America about 'Anti-Semitism' and about the American 'guilt over turning back the Jewish refugee ships' during World War II is not much talked about? Now it is: Israel is an 'unsinkable aircraft carrier' for America, implicitly it is all about the $$$. A large majority of the Democrats and even of the younger Republicans are not buying the Israeli narrative anymore. Maybe the world should thank those tens of thousands slaughtered in Gaza in last 3 years to open the Americans' eyes.

Obama stabbed Israel publicly right in the back in 2015 Iran Deal JCPOA.

When something like that is needed for USA, they do it, and there is no resistance. And there is nothing Israel can do it about it.

Yeah, now there is some public narrative against Israel in USA, Carlsson, Owens, and so on but it's just political circus and I dont think it's related to Gaza war, it had happened anyway.

But wars decisions are unaffected for that political circus.

Nobody knows if Mojtaba is actually the real leader of Iran at this point.

I have a bad feeling about all this. I think we're going to get screwed really badly.
I think we will end up handing over our uranium stockpile and we'll be forced to pay reparations to Arabs for years.

1. US primary and secondary sanctions will be lifted but only temporarily until either Trump changes his mind or the next US government finds a reason to impose new sanctions.

2. Our only chance to convince the Americans not to return the sanctions later is to give them long-term energy concessions and investments which will weaken our alliance with China and the Israeli lobby will still intervene to make sure we won't benefit from it.

3. The UNSC sanctions will be lifted permanently though, but as we have already found out the period of 2018-2025, US secondary sanctions bite more than UNSC sanctions.

4. Also, nearly every European country has unilaterally said that they're not going to accept to pay a toll for passing through the Strait of Hormuz, including Spain which has been our biggest advocate so far. So, our plan for earning money through that is nearly impossible to implement in reality.

So, bottom line, we will get sanctions relief for handing over our uranium stockpile, and our blocked money will be released as well, but it will go to Arabs instead of us and our profit from sanctions relief will be handed over to the Arabs as reparations, i.e. to the US and Israel indirectly.
